Re: clicky: what do you do when LO drops a toy on the floor?

  • I answered other.  I never wash a toy that's been dropped on the floor here at home.  (Unless the floor is really dirty because someone came in with shoes or something like that).  I cordless vac and swiffer wet jet my floors every day since DS has been mobile, so I know at any given time they can't be very dirty.

I rarely wash his toys, other than bath toys, because those get icky.  Most of his toys were just washed once when they were new before I gave them to him, and that's it.

If we're out and about and he drops something, whether I wash it before handing it back to him depends on what it is and where it was dropped.  If it's a paci and I don't have another one to give him, I rinse it off with bottled water.

  • if a toy drops on the floor at home, or at someone's house, i'll give it back to DD. after about 10 - 15 drops, i wash it. if she drops it while we're out, in a restaurant, parking lot, our driveway, i wash it.

How did you make that estimate? ;-)

Actually, this sounds pretty much like me.
