sippy vs. bottle

I notice that if i give DS his formula in a bottle and hold him he drinks it down but if it's in a sippy he will just take sips and not drink a lot..what happens when we switch to whole milk and he only takes sips here and there...all that calorie intake and volume just stops? I will ask pedi at apt. but it seems like it would be such a drop off of amount.

This is why we're not pushing the sippy for 12 months and done.  He just doesn't have it down.  When I see him drinking well with it, then we'll make the complete switch.

This is us too.  She drinks her milk from her sippy great in the morning and late afternoon but when she is tired she doesn't drink as much.  She takes her sippy a little before nap time and an hour or so before bedtime.
