    I have the DC-17 (purple "animal" version). I LOVE it. I use it almost every day because we have a dog that sheds a lot. It's almost 3 years old and still going strong. To be honest, I can't remember what we paid 3 years ago. I want to say $400. We went to Bed, Bath & Beyond and used a 20% coupon.

    I have the DC25 Animal Ball.  I love it.  I think we paid $350 for it, new.

    We got ours refurbished in 2003 and haven't had a single issue.

    We got the Animal but I don't think it was worth it.  Get the regular.

    We have the little red one. Dh bought it for me for my birthday (and I was thrilled) so I don't know how much it was. I love that thing, seriously.

    We got the DC17 animal (non ball) for around $200 at Target in Jan. They did a clearance on them. Some stores actually went to 75% off but our area pulled the remaining inventory before they hit 75%. They seem to clearance a model every few months. They also did the handheld model and another upright over the past few months.

    I absolutely love our Dyson and would have paid full price for it. Best we've ever owned.
