Strange pain in center of abdomen

Twice in the last week, I've had the strangest & borderline painful twinge/whack right in the center of my abdomen. 

First time it happened, I was I was going from the sitting to the lying position in bed - my abs were engaged and WHAM - felt like somebody wacked me in the stomach, right behind the belly button. I actually let out a scream. DH thought I had seen a mouse.

Then today, I was sitting in a work meeting, took a deep breath as I prepared to cough and ZING - again, same spot. My whole body flinched it surprised me so much. 

Could it be my abs separating? already? Should kicks be this strong/painful at 20 weeks? Anybody have this happen to them?  

I see the doc on Thurs & will ask then, but just curious

i got some sharp pains right behind my belly button with both pregnancies - i described it as a rubber band pulling feeling - which i suppose was my muscles pulling too tight.  My muscles never officially separated - but i got that pain often.

Im experiencing this now. BURNS and so annoying and uncomfortable!
