3 year old girl always fiddles with her privates

I have two sons, and know they touch their man parts all the time, but my daughter has been doing this often lately. I ask her if it itches, hurts, etc, and she says no. A friend said maybe she is just realizing she has privates and is touching it. Is this normal?

Your friend is right.

Why wouldn't it be just as normal for a girl as it is for a boy? ;-)  Hell, I'm 37 and still "fiddle" ..... *cough*

Totally normal. They are curious just like boys are. When dd does it I just tell her to do it in private.

Completely normal.  My 3 year old DD has been touching hersself ever since she started wearing underwear.
