with both of my IVFs I only took the day of the ER off from work. The anesthesia may make you a bit woosy/nauseous and you may have cramping and some light period like bleeding/spotting for a day or so. I rested that day and felt fine by that night with each, so returned to work the day after.
I returned to work the day after my first ER, but I was down the day of ER and the day after with #2 and #3. I stimmed a lot harder for IVF #2 and #3, so I'm not sure if this made a difference.

I took the day of egg retrieval off for both IVFs but went back to work the next day. Bed rest for both of my IVFs were different. The first one was a 3 day transfer and I had 4 days of bed rest. The second was a 5 day transfer and I had bed rest the day of and the next day. Hope that helps.
