Trouble breathing...

Anyone else experiencing this symptom? I just can't seem to get a deep enough breath. I'll definitely ask about it at my next appoinment, but wondered if anyone else felt like this.

Re: Trouble breathing...

  • it's pretty normal to get short of breath occasionally. Not sure if that's all you're experiencing, or if it's worse. Definitely check with your doctor.

  • Yes, I've noticed this. It's like there's not enough room for my lungs to normally exhale. Which seems silly because it's not like we're that far along...

It's the progesterone.  It causes your body to have shortness of breath so that you take in more oxygen, and more oxygen gets to the baby.

Annoying as hell, but kind of cool if you think about why it's happening.  :)

Thanks! I did not know this, and it is pretty cool! I started progesterone supplements last week too and noticed this even more, so maybe that's a good sign.

  • I'm in shape -- work out all the time.  And I'm having trouble, too!
  • Thank you so much for asking this question. I have been on progesterone for 4 weeks now and I am really out of breath myself but did not know why.
