bad day turned good

I was supposed to go on a picnic with my mom, just the two of us, but my older brother apparently decided to tag along. I wouldn't have minded because my mom deserves to spend the day with both of us, but he decided it would be fun to poke me (rather hard) in the stomach, tell me I'm fat, etc etc (My older brother is 21, I guess boys will be boys!).
I told my mom I didn't want her to have to spend her day listening to him and I fight so I asked her to drop me back off at home and to have a nice picnic with my brother and that I would call her later to meet up for dinner. She agreed and at 5pm we went to dinner and then raided the grocery store for dessert (H?agen-Dazs for the win!) and right before she dropped me off she handed me a present and I asked her what it was for and she told me "For a mom-to-be, it's the same products I used on you and your brother when you were newborns. Happy Mothers Day, sis (my nickname from my parents)" Long story short, I started bawling and didn't really know what to say other than "I love you mom, thanks for dinner."
She hasn't shown much interest in LO and this was a new development but very welcomed (probably why I cried).
She definitely made my day. :]
