I was not really shocked. It was not exactly news to me, but we own a farm, not that we farm, but we rented to big farm until the government paid us to stop. People do not realize how much of the food supply is controlled by the government in general, not just the parts presented in that rather one sided presentation. Between bizarre food regulations that can only be accomplished on a very large scale, at a price most people can afford, and government subsidies and everything in between, they play a huge role in what you eat.
King Corn is another one to watch. It is on netflix on demand.
I eat cage free eggs and chicken. I have started buying grass fed ground beef and organic milk. I no longer buy burgers from McDonalds.
Part was the gross factor in how things are done but a big part was that these big companies that control the industries shown in the movie don't deserve my money.
