light AF after progesterone?

I stopped pio on Tuesday and got AF yesterday, but it's super light. I thought AF was suppose to be the opposite because it builds your lining. Anyone else experience this?

Re: light AF after progesterone?

  • Hey-- I took progesterone for three months for 14 days out of each month as a way to treat hyperplasia (abnormal cell proliferation in my uterine lining) -- and the periods that resulted were all fairly light.  I was worried that this meant the treatment wasn't working, but my doctor said the opposite; that it was working just fine.  As I understand it, progesterone doesn't build up the lining, it causes it to age or "ripen".  Estrogen is what causes the lining to build up.  Make sense?
