Infertility

tell me about expanded blasts

we had 4 embies that arrested or were going to arrest (development slowed down) and another 4 that were un-gradeable today because they were expanded blasts.

RE says this means that the cells are too closely compacted together to count them and determine their grade.

Does this mean they developed slower? We're supposed to get an update phone call on them tomorrow. I'm hoping we'll have a few frosties.

Off to Google "expanded blastocyst" but just wondering if anyone had experience with this?

Re: tell me about expanded blasts

  • hmmm, maybe I misheard him? Maybe he said early blast? because reading about the expanded blast this seems like a good thing...

Grrrr, I wish I remembered more.

  • nevermind completely. I am so glad my husband is a better listener than I am. They were early blasts, not expanded. I am ashamed.

Hopefully they grow and become lovely snowbabies.
