Facebook etiquette question

Do you always "make contact" with a new friend?  And if so, is the onus on the friend requester or the friend acceptor to make first contact?

Re: Facebook etiquette question

  • I don't always send them a message after sending a request or accepting one.

  • depends. I usually send a little message with my request, but I don't always send one after I accept someone new.  I don't think it's necessary either way, but nice.  It makes me feel like someone didn't request me simply to see what I've been up to or to look at my pics.

I don't always talk with them, just check out their profile and if something comes up I'll pop over and say hi.  I don't think it's mandatory to talk with them right away.
