MA ladies - Discovery Museum in Acton

I posted this in Lari's post below, but though I might get a better response here. We were supposed to do a fun outdoor activity with MIL for our Mother's Day Celebration this afternoon but the weather isn't cooperating so I'm trying to come up with something else other than just going out for lunch.Have you been to the Discovery Museum in Acton?  Is it a huge mistake to go on a rainy Saturday? Looks cute, but not very big.

  • We went on a Saturday and it was crazy and not raining, maybe you could call and see if it is really busy. They may be able to give you an idea of what it seems like there this morning.

    Have fun!

  • The discovery museum on a rainy Saturday might be my idea of hell... it's a great little place, but there's just so many little rooms and stuff, and it gets crowded SO easily... I usually go on weekday mornings and it's crowded more often than not, so I can only imagine what kind of chaos it would look like today!

  • Ditto Glendi. It's so tiny. I felt claustrophobic in there and it wasn't even that crowded.

  • My idea of hell, too. Try the EcoTarium in Worcester instead- more fun, bigger, and probably a lot less crowded.

  • I would just like to say...boston drivers are nuts. :)

I just got back from a week in Boston for work and am so thankful to be back in the midwest though I am sad that i didn't get to do much fun stuff and decided that dh and I will go back sometime to be tourists...but we won't rent a car! :)
