Should I have favors at DD's birthday party?

DD will be 4.  We are having family and neighbors over and a few of her friends.  Should I have favors?  I didn't think about it until I was browsing on party city.com.  I know the obvious answer is "if you want to". But do you expect favors when your little ones go to parties/ did you do favors why or why not.

There would probably only be 5-10 favors to give out (about half boys, half girls) if that makes a difference.

  • I don't expect them, but I have fun making them.

DD is having a Mickey Mouse party. I have sand buckets ($1 from Target), Mickey Mouse sand molds, Mickey maracas and mini frisbies, mini squirt guns, bubble wands, stickers, and fruit rollups. Each favor is around $4-5.

  • My "little one" who is almost 4 expect it because every party he has been to has had a little bag of goodies for him to take home.  Certainly not necessary but he would definitely ask about it in the car on the way home.  Guess he is "conditioned" to get something to take home.  lol
