How often did your LO nurse during a 24 hour period around Ari's age?
He seems to be dropping a session in the a.m., & today he's refused to nurse since 10:00 this morning. He still seems totally stuck on nursing @ least 2-3 times at night no matter what I do though.
I'm stressing about the nearly 6 hours w/o nursing today. It's going to be open bar tonight!
Re: Mom's of 11 + months
Morning, mid-morning for a nap, when he woke up from a nap, afternoon for the nap, when he woke up from that nap, again around dinner, bedtime, and then 2-8 times throughout the night.
But if I was at work, he would nurse in the morning and then just snack on a 5-6 bottle during the day, nurse when I got home, and then before bed, and throughout the night.
However, it wasn't uncommon for us to go 4-5 hours without nursing.
11 months was when Todd starting going 4-6 hours without nursing during the day when we were together. Some nursing sessions were still 3 hours apart and he still cluster feeds in the hour before bed, but his solids intake really picked up and his breastmilk needs went down. He also dropped to only drinking 7-10 ounces at daycare (down from 15). And I think by now he would be done with bottles, but he sees the little babies using them and wants one too...
My MIL commented that I didn't nurse him during his birthday party last weekend and asked if he had switched to a bottle full time.
This from the woman who would complain that he nursed every 2 to 2 1/2 hours because her niece only took a bottle every 4 hours. I explained that he was nursing less because he was eating more at meals
Yep - this pretty much exactly (although thankfully usually 2-4 times at night).
