I personally dont like Hunter...why do you want to come here? LOL We have had nothing but problems, either with hubs' unit, or housing, or whatever, since we got here. Sure, Savannah is BEAUTIFUL and there is so much to do, but Hunter, from what I understand, is one of those places that you want to go to, and then hate the entire time you're here.
What other places do you want to go when flight school's done?
Re: lisa&andy
In regards to Ft. Drum, yes winters are horrible. I used to live about 1.5 hours from there, grew up there. I hated it, and was glad when I left. Hunter is small. Very small. There is a Target right outside one of the gates, though...very nice. Also a very nice library. We live on post...apparently because we had 2 kids, they could share a room, nevermind the fact that my son was trying to kill my daughter. He has Aspbergers, so we got put on the waiting list for a 3 bedroom, but they never put my daughter on the lease, so they didnt understand why (even with all the paperwork noting my daughter) we needed a 3 bedroom. Of course, now that there are 2 on the way, they bumped us up to 4 bedrooms. We were at Ft. Campbell before this, and LOVED IT. Housing was run by civilians, but still under the military. Here, it's run by a UK-based company.
I have a friend that has been trying to buy a house off post for a while now. She finally had to pull their original contract, and go look for a new house, because Wells-Fargo was being turdtastic. So, if you do end up looking off post, make sure to stay clear of them...they will try and get $10,000 more than originally asked.
