I'd think it'd be weird to even get an invite to a ballet recital. Most people besides parents and grandparents don't care to go to another kid's recital.

Very true.

I have a print side business and I send physical invitations to everything, even if it's just to family. Family and friends displaying my stuff gets me a ton of referrals. Also, doing stuff for my kids helps me brainstorm ideas for new products.
Incidentally, these are for a client, who saw ML's invitations at my sister's office and ordered some for her own daughter. She wanted something "clever" besides "so-and-so's first ballet recital", which is what I used for ML.
"pre" because she's 6 and far far from being a "prima".

It doesn't really make sense, honestly.
Ditto.
Agree. And maybe it's different when invitations are your business but oy - total overkill and a lot of pressure for people! Although it's good that you're getting business!

H didn't get it either, but I went ahead and emailed it to her as one of the options and she totally loves it. Each to her own, I guess. Here's a picture of it (but ML's silhouette, for the client's privacy):
I took dance (ballet tap, jazz, pointe, etc) for years and taught for a few years (before I had an injury) and I didn't even get the pre-ma! I would juast think you didn't know how to spell prima.
If it is pre- prima then that is what it should say because pre-ma would mean something different to me. Like ma = mama, mother, etc. Doesn't make sense.
It should say pre-prima because that is what she is trying to say...that her DD is a pre-prima ballerina...right?

I don't like it and yes, to each his own.
Tell her that people are going to think it's pre as in PREtentious.
But the design is v. cute!
