Babies: 0 - 3 Months

2nd time Mama who forgot everything

Hey ladies...

I hope the first few months with your babies is going well!  I'm a 2nd time Mama of a two year old who is just about 37 weeks along with this pregnancy.  You would think that I remember all the little stuff I'm going to need for this baby, but of course I don't.  I'm heading out to Target to pick up diapers, wipes etc for the new baby and I'm trying to remember all the little stuff that came in handy when DS was a newborn.  Gripe water? Infant Tylenol (or whatever hasn't been recalled?)?  What did you use in the first few weeks that you would recommend I have on hand?

By the way..DH and I were talking the other night and neither of us could recall the first 3 months of taking care of DS.  It was like one long night.  Maybe that's the only way we could ever procreate again...not remembering the tough stuff.  So I hope all of you get some sleep and TLC soon.  And hopefully I'll be joining you on this board in a couple of weeks.

  • I don't think you can use Tylenol (acetaminophen) with your new LO until they are at least 2 months.

  • That's what DH & I say...the 1st few months w/ DD was one big blur. We use gripe water and mylicon. We have the CVS version of tylenol (haven't had to use it yet). Some soothie pacifiers, baby oil for the cradle cap. I didn't check your ticker, if you're having a boy don't forget to have extra gauze pads and vaseline on hand.

  • Don't worry, it will all come back to you! I don't even remember the first few weeks anymore of taking care of my 2nd! But just remember to spend lots of one on one time with your 1st so that they still feel special:)
