As I sit here watching my daughter in the bilirubin light for jaundice I thought I'd post to see if anyone had questions about inductions with cervidil, pitocin, epis, etc. since I need to stay awake.
Here's my original post about my birth experience last weekend.
Cliff notes: I was induced Friday night with cervidil. Saturday morning I started Pitocin. I had two epis (the first one failed) and ended up with an emergency C after they realized my daughter was in distress.
It was a confusing, scary and generally overwhelming experience so I thought I would see if I could help anyone who might be looking at an induction or just had questions. If you don't want to post the question here, feel free to email me at melissainabq at gmail.
Re: Induction, Pitocin, Cervidil, C-section - ask me anything about my experiences, I'll try to help
I was 36 weeks on the nose when I went in. She is having no real issues (other than some mild jaundice) and we went home Tuesday after giving birth early Sunday. We are so lucky.
Because I'd been on bedrest for high BP too, they had taken some precautions - including steroid shots - to make sure her lungs developed before birth.
I went from no progress to huge progress and if she hadn't gotten twisted, I was at push time. Don't stress yourself out about it, if that's possible. Just remind yourself that whatever happens, your docs know what they are doing and will make the choice based on what's best for you both.
