'Tipping' question***

Hi girls, So this is my official pamper myself week swing as how it's Mothers Day and I start my new job next week. I have a GC for a massage on Friday...basically I'm getting $150 worth of pampering. One person will do my massage and the other my facial. Sooo do I tip them together or seperately? How much should I tip if technically I'm using a gift certificate? -j

I think it's the norm to tip 15% ... at least I tip my hair stylist 15-20%!!

Do you know what the prices are normally for a facial and massage? I would tip each person individually based on that price. 15% sounds good unless they do a good job and you want to tip a little more

Like pp said 15-20% is normal... but again, a tip isn't necessary, so a little less is prob fine too (if you weren't 100% pleased w/ the service).

I usually always tip 20%, unless it's bad service, but I think anywhere from 15-20% is the standard.  Find out the cost of the services separately and tip based on that.  Make sure that tip is not already included in the GC, sometimes it is, depends on the place.  Ask when you arrive so that they check.

This exactly. I tip about 20% after finding out the costs of the individual services.

Thanks girls. I'll have 15-20% ready depending on the service. Jackie- I'm still at baptist in my same department, mother/baby, but I'll be part of the management team now. I'm sooooo excited, this is a step-up for me. I'll be working 5 days a week, no more 12 hours, and no more weekends....woohoo!!! And another plus is that I got juju into the school at baptist so he'll be right there and I can see him whenever I want! -j

Woohoo!  That is awesome.  Movin' on up girl... good for you.  CONGRATS again.  Looks like I'll be delivering at Mercy, you can't care for my babies.  : (
