Would-Be Bank Robber Fails to See Cop Behind Her

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A would-be bank robber should have taken a quick glance over her shoulder before she gave a teller a note demanding money.

Lois Harvey, 40, didn?t notice the off-duty, in-uniform police officer standing right behind her in line. The officer even wore a bright yellow vest with the word ?POLICE? in large black letters on the front of it.

The incident happened at a Chase Bank branch at Long and Governor?s Place in the King-Lincoln neighborhood. When the teller apparently didn?t seem to be able to read the note, Harvey got agitated trying to explain the note to the teller.

That?s when she finally noticed the officer standing behind her in line. She turned to make her way out of the bank, but that?s when the teller alerted the cop to the attempted theft.

Then, ABC6/Fox28 News learned, Harvey tried to eat the note she?d given to the teller. Police recovered the note and arrested her.

Harvey remains at Franklin County Jail and is charged with robbery. She is set to be arraigned on Thursday morning.Would-Be Bank Robber Fails to See Cop Behind Her
