Do any of you mothers take this? I have a 3 yr old who is out of control
and and a 2 month newborn. Since having the baby im constantly anxious
and sometimes depressed but its really the anxiety that gets me. I feel
like i have no time to myself, can never get anything done and my 3 yr
old makes life so difficult i find myself getting angry alot (NEVER at
her) but it makes me feel awful that i feel that way. She is in terrible
twos so she wants my attention 24/7 but with the baby is impossible.
Plus she is misbehaving so much. Im trying to stick to same discipline
routine but honestly at the end of the day i have trouble remembering
what quality time i had with her. It seems the day is spent
breastfeeding, putting the baby down for naps, giving my 3 yr old
breakfast lunch etc and then back to the baby again. I need something to
take the edge off and help me let things roll off my back more. Do any
of you have experience taking this while taking care of children. Please
help
Re: Help..Dr is prescribing me Zanax for my anxiety...
Have you thought about seeing a counselor? I started seeing one after my DS was born for anxiety/very similar feelings to what you are saying. It is HARD with 2 young kids, and it's ok to admit it's hard and you need help.
The doctor tried to give that to me, but I refused to take it. My dad took Zanax for anxiety and he said it made him really drowsy/groggy and that it was pretty addictive. It also says it's not really safe for breastfeeding, which is the main reason I decided not to use it.
I was prescribed lexapro. I took 10 mg a day for 3 weeks, and now I'm being weaned off of it. It worked beautifully, and helped me get my anxiety under control. I've had no side effects, and I'll probably be off of it in a month. Oh, and I had to see a psychiatrist to get the lexapro, maybe look into getting an appointment?
