I got mine yesterday and it went great. Much easier than I thought it would go.
My question is, did you experience any discomfort after it was placed? If so, how long did it last?
I'm not in pain, but when I sit in certain positions, I feel something down there. I'm just worried that it didn't take all the way or that something's wrong.
Re: Ok, those with mirena...
Yeah, she told me to call her at the end of the week if the cramping doesn't go away. I have an appointment to check the strings in 4 weeks.
I'm also wondering if maybe the speculum scraped me since I bled red a little yesterday and the feeling seems to be lower than my cervix and where I would picture the mirena and the strings to be.
MCC- It wasn't bad at all. She put the speculum in and then poked my cervix with a cotton swab to check to see if it was favorable. I didn't feel that at all. Then she inserted the mirena and I felt the tiniest of cramps. Before I could even say anything, it was done and the cramp was gone. The worst part was honestly the speculum.
Now as I said, I've been crampy since, but I would compare that to period cramps. Nothing a little motrin can't take care of. With the exception of this dang feeling that something's there, of course.
Good to know that it isn't that bad. My ob compared it to having strong contractions for an hour afterwards. Then again he is a man so he probably has no idea what the heck it feels like.
Haha I wouldn't compare it to contractions. But then again, my doc gave me cytotec for the two nights prior to soften my cervix. So that might have had something to do with it. I know not many doctors do that.
I've had mine for a week now, and I still feel off. At times there is a dull pain. I'm not sure what's up. I don't have a fever, or foul odor so I'm not worried yet. If it doesn't stop soon I may call the dr.
As far as the pain while being placed... it was quick, but it was more than I expected. I didn't like it. I'm still bleeding a little at times; which is normal.
