Moms who had scheduled c-sections?

I scheduled my c-section for May 10th and the 7th I go in for pre-admission testing but the lady on the phone didn't tell me what kind of testing. So did any of you with scheduled c-sections have this testing and what did they do? TIA!

Re: Moms who had scheduled c-sections?

  • I had no pre-admission testing.  They just called and registered me over the phone.  I am just guessing they are going to draw your blood and check all your blood counts.  I got to the hospital 2 hours before my c-section and they drew my blood then.  It doesn't take long to get the results back so it was fine waiting til the day of surgery.  There should be no other testing you will have to get done besides blood work.  Good luck to you.

  • My c/s was scheduled for a Monday and I went in on Friday for pre-op.  They drew blood, I completed all my paperwork, spoke with the anthesologist, and they gave me my hospital bracelet which I had to wear all weekend.

  • The blood testing is to just to confirm your blood type and counts going into the surgery.  It is the same testing done before any surgical procedure and not a big deal.
