Babies: 0 - 3 Months

FP Rock and Play users

I'm thinking of getting one since I can't get my son to sleep in his crib or PNP. He has reflux but I'm not sure if this is the reason he won't sleep in the crib or PNP or not, since he doesn't sleep long in his bouncy seat or swing either.

Anyway, my question is, are you concerned about how you will eventually get your baby to sleep in their crib? I'm afraid if I start using this thing, he'll never want to sleep anywhere else. I guess it's not the worst thing but I would rather not have problems transitioning later on.

  • Lurking...my DS is 4 months old and has been sleeping in his rock n play sleeper for 2 1/2 months now. He easily sleeps in places other than the rock n play sleeper.

  • Nope, I am not worried in the slightest.  To me, it is worth the sleep that we get now, and I will deal with the transition later.  DS also will not sleep anywhere but in the Rock and Play or on top of me, so this has been a lifesaver.  With that said, DD slept exclusively on top of me for the first 3 months of her life (oh how I wish I had had the FP Rock and Play back then!) and she had minimal trouble transitioning to the crib around 3 months.
  • DS naps in his PNP and sleeps in the Rock and Play - He doesn't mind getting it switched up.

I've put DS down in his crib a few times and he didn't seem to mind the difference. Incase lying flat on his back all night proves a problem, I got a sleep wedge we can use in his crib.
