So I'm on day 4 of PIO and I hurt. I am a side sleeper and now both sides are sufficiently sore and it's interfering with my sleep. Is there anything I can do to make it hurt less? I am icing before the shot to numb the area, so the shot doesn't hurt, but afterwards I am SORE!
Thanks!

Heat is better. And try heating the bottle of progesterone under running water before drawing the needle.

This is my 3rd time using PIO and for the first time I understand the soreness! Actually I just sat down to get on the computer and both of my sides hurt a lot!!
I know that a heating pad afterwards and massaging can help.
good luck!
Ice won't really help b/c it's an IM injection - so it can really only help the top layer of skin.
Here's what I do:
1) Put the PIO in your bra while you get set up (washing hands, prepping needles etc.) - that will warm the oil a bit
2) After injection, get your DH to rub the injected area HARD for 1-2 min. This helps distribute the oil and then you are less likely to get knots/welts
3) Low level heating pad for up to 10 min after the shot. After ET though, be careful to only heat your butt area not lower back.
HTH!
