TTC After a Loss

Grrr! OB said to wait one cycle

I thougt he would, but I'm just frustrated.  Took 5 cycles to get PG, m/c at almost 7 weeks and I'm not getting any younger here.  My levels are already down to 27 less than a week post m/c.  I hate to waste a month, but I won't go against his advice either.  I guess I'll just try to think about not wasting my month (or so) and putting it to good use for something else.  Humph!

Re: Grrr! OB said to wait one cycle

  • I know it can be frustrating to wait, but I don't think your wasting a cycle.  Your allowing your body to recover and hopefully normalize.  Your allowing the lining to build back up to better support a pg.  Good luck and we have all been there, so feel free to vent.

  • It is certainly frustrating, but it really is best to give your body a chance to recuperate after what's happened.

    Really, Seriously Really?

It took 2 fing years after my m/c AND only with the help of IF treatments to get pregnant again only to loose my right tube to an ectopic pregnancy. I am not saying this to 1-up you, just so that you might realize how easy you have it and how insensitive complaining about this is to many of us who have been on here a long, long time.   I SERIOUSLY think you need to COUNT your blessing before b!tching about waiting 1 cycle post m/c.  You are lucky, as fertility comes a lot easier for you than it does many other people on here.

    Really?  Seriously?

I'm 35 years old.  It took me 5 cycles to conceive this time and I'm a little upset about the thought of not getting PG again for another 6 months possibly.  I think I have every right to be upset about that.  And, just because I have two children already does not mean that fertility is coming easily to me now.

  • I think her point was to just have a little patience.

If you had a d&c or your doctor suggested, it's a good idea to wait a month for your body to heal.  I'm sorry that you're frustrated, but it's a month and it's worth it so that you don't have to deal with the angst of "Did I conceive too soon" if you have another loss.  Trust me, that's a kind of awful nobody should have to deal with.

Grr is right, you need some patience.  Also, so what about your age?  I am 35 as well.  And as for your children, I have no clue as to WHY you want to bring them into the debate.

And yes, based on your OP, fertility comes relatively easy for you considering it happens in 5 mo not  2 years and with help.  There are many people on here who would love to be KU in 5 mo., which really is not that long at all.  Seriously.

I think this poster [suntoto] has nothing better to do then try to make people feel stupid.  Ignore. Ignore. Ignore.

You are allowed to vent, and say what you feel on the board.  I don't think you were being insensative at all! I feel for you.  Waiting feels like wasted time.  We've all been there.  Just know u have support here :)
