Got Mirena today...

and it wasn't bad at all!  Ok, except for the fact that like a dunce, I didn't notice I forgot to shave my legs until I was stripping down.  Horrifying. 

The most painful part was the speculum being inserted.  I have had no action down there since the week before Cadie came, so it was uncomfortable.  She tested the waters by pushing a q-tip into the cervix to see if it was favorable.  Totally didn't feel it.  Then she went to place the Mirena and I felt a slight cramp.  Before I could even ask, she said that it was over.

I'm a little crampy (& bleeding, but was before the appointment, too) and it's a little uncomfortable to walk, but overall, it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Just thought you ladies would like to hear my good experience with it.

Thanks for sharing!  I think that this is the route I will be going.  Originally I was going to take the pill, but I kept forgetting to take it.

I recently got Paragard, and it wasn't too bad either. Basically an elongated pap smear.

I'm glad that you had a decent experience with it since I'm planning on getting it too.  My doctor doesn't usually do it until 8 weeks PP so I have a few more weeks.
