1) How many hours, from arrival to birth of LO, did your labor and delivery take?
2) Did your induction end up in a c-section? Why?
3) Were you dilated at all before you were induced?
4) How many days overdue were you when you were induced?
As you can see, I'm overdue and I have an appointment tomorrow to talk induction, possibly tomorrow night. I'm nervous as I have yet dilated at all (as of last Thursday) and I hear that can translate to long, hard labors that end up in c-section a high probability of the time.
Thanks for sharing your experiences!
Re: If you were induced...
1) 38 hours. It wasn't a hard labor though. Just long.
2) no
3) no
4) 8
1) How many hours, from arrival to birth of LO, did your labor and delivery take?
We arrived at 8pm, first dose of cytotec was inserted at 10pm, DD was born at 2:58pm the next day.
2) Did your induction end up in a c-section? Why?
Nope
3) Were you dilated at all before you were induced?
Nope
4) How many days overdue were you when you were induced?
Induction started 8 days after my due date, so DD was born 9 days after her due date.
I was afraid it'd take forever since I wasn't dilated and was barely effaced. I was also afraid of it ending up in a c-section. But my induction experience went very smoothly. It all just depends on how your body reacts to the process. Good luck!

MSPI Moms Check-In Blog
With my first baby:
1. From the start of Pitocin and breaking my water, 13 hours.
2. No. Vacuum delivery, but no c-section.
3. A finger tip only. When the pitocin worked enough, she broke my water and that really sped things along.
4. I wasn't overdue. They were worried about size.
1) Arrival was at 7:30, pitocin started at midnight, baby born 12:42 pm
2) No c-section. If I had not responded well to the pitocin, I would have stopped everything before they broke my water.
3) I was 2-3 cm (I think in part due to the evening primrose I used for a couple nights before. I also tried acupuncture but don't think that did anything. I had been closed tight at my appt the week before.)
4) It was my due date
My Blog
1. 22 hours
2. no
3. no
4. 11
1) 11hours of actual labor. I arrived Mon night so they could give me cervadil (it did nothing). They started Pitocin at 6am Tuesday.
2) I had a c-section. After 11 hours of Pitocin induced labor I still had no progress. I hadn't dilated or effaced at all and there was maconium (sp?) in my water. My recovery has been great and I don't regret having to have a c-section.
3) not at all
4) I was one day short of 42 weeks.
1) Went in the night before the induction. Given cervadil at 6:30 pm to ripen my cervix for the induction the next morning at 6 a.m. It put me in labor that night. Labor took 5 hours.
2) No c sesction
3) I was 2 cm dilated when I got to the hospital
4)I was 4 days
Labor and delivery were 15 hours- only 5 hours of "hard" labor after my water broke. 20 mins of pushing- had a vaginal delivery.
I was dilated 1 cm that morning and the OB "stretched" me to 2 in the office (friggin ouch!)
I was 40wks 5d- was induced for developing preeclampsia.
1) 6 1/2
2) no
3) 2 cm 75% effaced
4) 4 days overdue
I was surprised at how easy mine went. Just relax and don't worry about it too much.
I went to the hospital to start my induction on Tuesday at 7 pm- 11 days past my due date.
I ended up with a c-section on Friday at 5:30 pm after cervadil, pitocin, etc didn't work. I was barely dilated at all.
I ended up being 14 days overdue by the time he came but the long hours at the hospital being induced weren't too bad...other than being terribly bored!
I'll answer for both kids since I was induced twice
1. DD: 10.5 hours, DS: 6.5 hours
2. No for both
3. 2 cm for both
4. DD: 9 days before due date, DS: on due date

1) How many hours, from arrival to birth of LO, did your labor and delivery take? Arrived at 7am, Cytotec inserted about 8am, water broken at 11:30, Epidural at 3pm, started pushing at 8pm, decesion to do c-section at 11pm, born at 1148.
2) Did your induction end up in a c-section? Why? Yes, due to baby's head not progressing, Head ended up being turned weird, and would have never come down.
3) Were you dilated at all before you were induced? 1.5 cm
4) How many days overdue were you when you were induced? 3 days, but was induced more due to baby measuring small on ultrasound. Ended up being 8 lb 2oz (measured 6lb 2oz)
1) How many hours, from arrival to birth of LO, did your labor and delivery take? Started around 10pm Thursday night - LO was born Friday night at 10:25pm. They inserted Cervadil around 10pm Thursday to start the induction. Started pitocin around 10am Friday. LO was born at 10:25 that night. The pitocin made labor pretty intense but the epidural helped a lot. It did mostly wear off by the time it came to push & I did end up having an episiotomy but it was all worth it in the end since I was really hoping to have LO vaginally & the recovery wasn't nearly as bad as I had imagined.
2) Did your induction end up in a c-section? Why? No.
3) Were you dilated at all before you were induced? Yes about 3 cm & mostly effaced.
4) How many days overdue were you when you were induced? I was induced at 39 weeks due to low fluid - so LO was early.
GL!
1. 21 hours.
2. Nope.
3. I was only dilated 1 cm.
4. I wasn't overdue at all. Actually, I was induced a week earlier because I was showing signs of Pre-E and the sonogram showed LO was 9 lbs. A lot of people gave me flak for going with the induction based on weight, but it's a good thing I did. LO turned out to be 10lbs, 5 oz and my doc said there was not a chance I would have been able to deliver him if we waited until I was overdue.
My induction was great, despite how long it took. I went 12 hours without the epi, the only reason why I even got it was because I quit dilating at 3 cm without it. Good luck!
1) How many hours, from arrival to birth of LO, did your labor and delivery take? 21.5 hours
2) Did your induction end up in a c-section? Why? No- she was born vaginally
3) Were you dilated at all before you were induced? I was only finger tip-1cm and ~60% effaced
4) How many days overdue were you when you were induced? I was 41.5 weeks
1) 14 hours from the time we got to the hospital
2) No
3) 1 cm
4) I was 7 days overdue
I was induced with my 1st and had a c-section with my second baby and I must say that the induction was WAY better. It wasn't difficult at all. I did get an epidural because they used pitocin, but other than that everything went perfectly
Good luck!
1) 92 hours.
2) yes. she wouldn't descend, I wouldn't dialate, she was having too many decels, and see #1.
3) no
4) 1 week early due to pih/pre-e
I will preface my answer by saying that this was my 2nd pregnancy...I was induced both times and they were both very different. First one took 4 days from start to finish, but this time took less than half a day!
1) Arrived at the hospital at 5AM....IV in and pitocin on by 6AM....broke my water at 7:30AM....had epidural by 9AM...complete and ready to push at 10:40 AM...LO was out at 10:51AM. It was so fast and a very good experience, by lunch I was cleaned up and relaxing in my room with my baby, hubby and visitors.
2) Nope, I had a vaginal delivery with absolutely no tearing, episiotomy, or lacerations. Recovery has been a snap!
3) I had been 3cm for 3 weeks prior to my induction
4) I was 5 days overdue when I was induced.
