Poll: traveling with stroller in vehicle?

Please help my husband and I settle this... We are getting a new car- most likely a Ford Edge. He thinks the trunk is just big enough for our stroller (Baby Jogger City Series) and nothing else. We're obviously going to take it with us to see what kind of space is left before we purchase. However, it got me thinking... do you keep your stroller in your trunk at all times or do you pack it when you know you'll need it? Any advice/ tips are appreciated. TIA!

It stays in my trunk because when Im out and about the kids are always with me.  I guess I could take it out on days I work but then when I get home and we decide to go somewhere last minute I know I would forget to get it.  Plus where else would you store it?  Im not a fan of leaving it outside (bugs, weather etc) And our closets are already full.  So the trunk is the best option.  But I have a Nissan Quest and my Graco DuoGlider folds flat enough to fit in the "hole" the 3rd row seat folds down into.

  • We have a Ford Edge and I currently keep my DS's stroller in all the time, but that is only a single stroller.  I assume I will also keep my double stroller in the trunk, which will most likely be the Kolcraft Contours.  Then I also plan on getting the Valco Tri Mode Double with the toddler seat which will most likely only go in when I need it to go in.  The trunk of the Ford Edge is pretty big and I just pile stuff on top of the stroller if I need to.

  • i keep my city select in the car at all times - because I tend to use it every day.  If I'm not going to use it - there's no reason to take it out and waste time unless i need the trunk space for something specific- so it just stays in there.
  • I keep my city mini in my vehicle at all times...I can;t imagine having to remember to get teh stroller into the trunk, plus wrangle both girls out to the car when we venture out...I just stack what I need to around it and on top of it...
  • I keep the stroller in the car at all times. We go out a lot and it's just easier to know that it's always available if I need it. And honestly, it's a great resource during the few times that either of the kids misbehaves - they love to walk independently in the mall, etc. but they know that if they don't do so responsibly, then it's back to the stroller.
