  • I believe it was 3 weeks for Lily.

  • Ha. Not until this week, and they are still few and far between.

  • I am asking because DH claims she laughs and smiles at him all the time. I have never seen it. With her having an actual and adjusted age I just wonder when I will see the real thing...

  • All babies are different, but we weren't seeing any smiles until this last week, and he definitely hasn't laughed yet. He only smiles once or twice a day. Your H might be seeing fart smiles though. :)

  • LO started smiling at about 6 weeks, but didn't actually start smiling at me specifically until the last few days.

  • 10 weeks here. Actually, I thought I got one at 7 weeks but I'm pretty sure it was a fluke since we were smile-less for three full weeks after that. Anyway, now he smiles (and giggles) a lot!

  •  My mom swears she has been smiling since birth, but I would say since about 5 weeks.  She is by far the happiest of all my babies.

He smiles at my mom all the time. Big gummy smiles. Not so much with my husband or I. We get a half smile kind of like he is amused by us.

  • Less than a month. Still think she was on the 2nd morning a lil bit and now she laughs out loud sometimes. Moving her tounge too when she is trying to talk. Fun to watch waiting for her to smile on cue!

  • I can't tell. DH thinks she smiles and laughs for real. I still think its not purposeful. But she does laugh and smile all the time.
  • smile when they don't have 'motivation' like you being funny or whatev... which i also call the 'gas smile' 3 weeks.

actual for real smile- 2 months.

  • Jake started smiling at 6 wks.  The pic in my siggy was taken at 6 wks.
