At the recommendation of my acupuncturist, I saw a chiropractor for the first time on Friday. I've been meaning to post a recap since then, but I've been lazy. (This is going to be long)
She said reduced fertility and wacky cycles is often related to subluxations in the very bottom of the spine. The nerves attached to the spine at that area are associated with the organs in the pelvis, including reproductive organs. She said subluxations in this area sort of "cut off" the nervous system flow to these organs. In doing so, this can reduce blood flow to the area and disrupt the monthly hormone chain.
Ironically, she also said that subluxations at the very top of the spine (in the cranial/neck area) can affect fertility. I forget her exact explanation of why this is (she was throwing so much info at me that I got overwhelmed.)
She said she recommends getting adjusted once a week for a whole month to see how my cycle changes, if at all.
Here was the weird thing: when she was examining my spine initially, she said that I have a "stuck pelvis." In fact, she was shocked how stuck it was. I was laying on my stomach on the chiro table and she was pushing on each side of my lower back (where my pelvis is) and even said "wow, there is literally no movement at all"
What the hell is a "stuck pelvis"????? I should've asked her to be more specific, but I figured I'd just go home and google it. I haven't found ANY info about it, though. I'm going to ask her when I go back this week.
(oh, she also said that my inability to remain asleep at night and my tossing and turning are symptomatic of a nervous system disruption)
Phew! I don't know yet if I'd recommend a chiro, because I won't know for a few weeks/months if it helped. Just thought I'd share.
Re: What my chiropractor said about fertility.
I went to see my chiro on Friday as well. He's a complete whackadoo on some things, but he makes me feel better. We were talking about fertility and such and he gave the same lower spine answer as yours. The upper/neck area he says is vital to all parts as a blockage there affects everything. Also, my pain is mostly right below my bra line which he says is the area that speaks to my pancreas and liver. Allowing better flow there will help my insulin levels according to him.
If it helps, I'm all for it. If he's a nut job, at least I'm not hurting.

They do, but some insurance plans don't cover them. Mine is an HMO and it's not covered, but I'm switching to the PPO during open enrollment next month, and I'll only have to pay $15 a visit after that.
Mine takes insurance, but my insurance doesn't cover chiropractic care at all. But, they charge me the same rate they get paid by insurance so it works for me. I pay $165 for my yearly exam that includes xrays, a temp scan of my spine and some other electricity scan. Then I pay $24 per adjustment and the 12th one is free. $25-$30 is the going rate for adjustments around here.

Yup, mine is $28 per adjustment, after $128 initial appt.
I used to work for a chiropractor. I think that they make you feel better, but don't heal all like they claim. I haven't been to my chiro in a long time. I just might try to make an appointment for tomorrow.
Our insurance covers chiro care and our doc writes off the co-pay for firefighters and their family.
I've been seeing my chiro for almost 2 years now. Since before I got pregnant the first time. My cycles haven't changed from anything he has done. I have gotten pregnant and miscarried 3 times since I've been seeing him.
Fertility magic it is not, but it sure as hell makes my back feel better.
