Contact paper collage craft

Gibs, don't waste precious seconds of your life reading this!

We did this today. It was a lot of fun. First we went out and collected a bunch of flowers and other pretty things from outside, which Alex loved doing in and of itself. Then we stuck them to the contact paper and put the second sheet over it to seal everything in. I didn't put tape on the sides to "frame" it like they suggest in the website and think it still looks really good.

DS actually started applauding when we finished, he was so proud. He really loved this craft. And I loved that I didn't have to worry about glue.

We did find that with the flowers it was better to work on a horizontal surface. We tried doing it on the wall first, but the flowers kept falling down.

Once the second sheet of contact paper sealed everything in it was fine to hang it up.

  • Awesome! Thanks, Femme! I have to prepare a special project in two weeks for Ben's preschool class and this is great. I'm thinking we'll do ours with glitter, confetti, feathers and sequins just to really make it sparkly and fun:) I love the nature one you did.

That sounds really cute! The kids will love it! The best part of it is that they can really do whatever they want with it. :)

  • So fun! We've gone through almost a whole roll of Contact paper making stuff like this. Suncatchers, wings for bugs, all sorts of stuff. Really cute! I love all your natural materials.

Now that we have the clear contact paper I'll have to try some of your other suggestions. :)

  • Turned out really cute.  I started doing this when I was a daycare teacher and have carried it over with Carter.  We contact paper collage everything from flowers/items from a nature walk, leaves, glitter, feathers, shredded colored paper, etc.

  • That is super cute! And since my son is an OCD clean freak, this would be perfect since there is no glue involved. LOL

That's part of why I like it. I'm a bit OCD myself. :)
