So, your baby is a master at escaping the swaddle (I'll post pics later - he ends up 1 foot down the crib wearing the blanket like a toga)... but without it, he wakes himself up within about 5 minutes. What do you do?
Is my only hope to buy one of the velcro swaddlers? I was really hoping to avoid, but this kid is a Houdini. Or are there other things you can do to help them not startle themselves? TIA!
Re: Swaddle escapees ?
I double swaddled in the SwaddleMe's for a little while which kept him contained but he spent so much energy all night trying to break out (and was so relieved in the morning when I freed him) that I finally just tried him unswaddled and he's doing great.
A picture of him sporting his toga. In order to get his arm out, he pulled it out of the sleeve and then out of the blanket.
This. We kind of do a swaddle around his chest, under his armpits, so that the blanket stays snug and safe through the night, and he's still happy because his arms are free.
