Need help with my skin

Since moving from NY to CA my skin has been in the worst shape. The things that I used in NY do not work in CA. I have dry skin to begin with but now it just feels wind burned or something. I have these dry scaly spots all over and I broke out terribly about 2 weeks ago and I am still dealing with that whole mess. I bought ponds dry skin creme but I feel like it just sits on top of my skin and the scaly patches still remain. Unfortunately a trip to get a facial is not in the books right now. Any suggestions on what I can do?

    I used to be a hairstylist and worked in a salon where we carried Dermalogica. The Barrier Repair would probably do wonders for you if you are feeling wind burned. Try it over your moisturizer.

    Also, here's a tip: Ulta and other local salons should carry it. Ask them for a sample (they probably have tons) before you buy!
