Bath time help needed!

DS loves bath time, a little too much. He gets so excited he kicks and wiggles and throws himself around, banging into the side of the infant to toddler plastic tub we have.  I'm afraid he's going to injure himself.  Plus, he legs are so long they're all scrunched up in the tub or hanging out of it.  So what do I use know to make bath time fun and comfortable but safe?  He is waaaayyyy to small for the actual bathtub and we've tried the foam insert, but that just makes him more cramped in the tub.  Ideas???

Re: Bath time help needed!

  • My daughter just started to do the same thing.  I'm surprised it doesnt seem to hurt her to be kicking the plastic as hard as she seems to kick it.

  • we are in the same boat as you ....LO is 27 inches long...but he cant sit up unsupported yet.
  • My DD was the same way.  We got the Euro Tub by Primo a couple weeks ago and we are loving it.  The tub is really big (DD is 25.5 in) but still supports her.
  • we have this tub and it's huge... and it keeps her in place through all her wild thrashing! image

  • Have you looked into the inflatable baby tubs?
  • Us too!  In the same boat.  Or should I say tub!  LO wants to sit up during bath time and doesnt like being reclined.  So, I put her in between my legs in the bath tub while the hubby helps wash her kneeled down outside the tub.  She splashes and kicks and has a great time.  Plus she is getting use to the tub for when she can be in it on her own :)
  • I put LO in the big tub with me. It works great for us. He loves to kick and splash in the bath too and it is the easiet way I've found to make him happy!
  • what kind of tub is this? link?

my LO is waaay too long for a toddler tub, still isn't sitting completely by himself so we've been using the kitchen sinck for a few weeks now

  • We have absolutely no problem putting DS in the big tub, and have been doing so for several months.  I don't think it is the size of the tub as much as what you use to support LO.  We have THIS and it's great because it keeps him from turning over and from wiggling and sliding his way down.  We had a plain bath sling and I was constantly having to move him.

He finds this to be really comfortable and I find it to be really secure.  The we just fill the tub with an appropriate amount of water.
