I have prefolds and BG3.0 I rinse twice then wash then do an extra rinse to rinse out the soap. They aren't coming clean, do they need to soak? Its mostly the poop that isn't coming clean, there are still marks, it hasn't been sunny out so I plan on line drying them but in bad weather I use my dryer, but they come out of the wash with stain marks so I haven't even put them in the dryer yet. anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
Re: The diapers are not coming clean, what am I doing wrong?
Happy to help, need to know one thing - how old is the baby and is he fed EBM or other? That could adjust some things.
But sounds like it may not be enough detergent, and not enough hot water.
We do a cold rinse/soak for a bit. Then a hot/cold wash with 2 tbsp of Crunchy Clean or to the 2 level with Tide. The dryer shouldn't affect cleanliness.
Also this. EBF poop is a super-staining sort of stuff, especially on prefolds and cotton. Some sunshine helps them go away, but it's normal.
Now if there is smell, it's another thing (like what I wrote).

Nice new ticker!
Yep, they say EBF poop is water-soluble. I also thought that meant stain-free. Notomuch!
But it is nice to know that a Tide to Go pen will get EBF poop stains out of carpeting!
I will have to remember that

did you buy any used dipes? because that's why iiiii thought they didn't stain! lol. i've purchased these used diapers that you can't even tell have been used apart from fading on some - it's crazy. the sun must really work wonders on them!
my bfp chart!

I've had really good luck with the eff homemade detergent and no staining. I think it has to do with the oxygen bleach. Until we started solids with A we had zero staining on her diapers. Not even the meconium stained. And we don't line dry because our yard is really iffy sun wise so no sunning. Even Noel's, when they stain, usually come out in a wash or two.
