It's been a while, but I know there was a vacuum discussion earlier. I'd like to stay under $250 so technically I could get a refurbished Dyson...is it really worth it? Is there any upkeep to it? I read in a few reviews that people complained the plastic parts were flimsy???
I don't want to gross you out, but my hair seems to be the clogging issue... Bissell was decent but I've gone through 2 of them in 6 years and I'm tired of settling for mediocrity. If you have a Dyson, how long have you had it? Any issues?
TIA
Re: NBR: Does DYSON suck?
We have the Dyson pet and LOVE it. With 4 cats, it's a lifesaver.
We don't have any carpet, but it does have a bare floors setting, and works great on the hardwoods as well. I use the upholstery attachment once a week to clean the couch and chairs.
We've had it almost 3 years and never had a problem with it.
I wish you had posted this 2 months ago. I found a great deal at Target for their Dyson Animal (DC17 I think?) for half-off... they were clearance, reg. $550 on sale for $275... it was an awesome deal! I wanted to get one but couldn't find anyone to buy my DC07 (which works fine, just wanted the bigger and badder one) so I couldn't justify spending the money on it.
I love my DC07 though, it's the pink Susan Komen one from Target... got a great price on Black Friday in 2008. We have two cats and mostly carpet in the house, it picks up really well and we haven't had to do anything to it yet. I would definitely recommend them. I've seen them on woot.com occasionally if you're not in a rush for one, they sell the reconditioned ones on there from time to time!
Thank you Liz & Sarah! I've heard hype for years and really minimal complaints are on the Web {most of them center around the expense}.
Ohhh darn! Well, my current one hasn't gone kaput yet, but I'm just getting frustrated because I keep cleaning out the filters/canister/hoses and it still hasn't improved the suction. I'll check out woot.com thanks for sharing!
