Favorite Frozen Foods?

The WFD posts got me thinking...what are your favorite frozen foods?  Ya know, when you just need something quick for a meal or as a side?

I don't like many frozen foods, but there are a few that I swear by!

I love, love, love the Bird's Eye Steam and Serve Veggies.  My faves are the Beans with a Twist, Spring Veggies in Citrus Sauce and the Asian Veggies w/Roasted Cashews.  Man, that stuff tastes so good and so fresh!  I keep several of them in my freezer at all times.
I also have just discovered the Jimmy Dean D-Lights, Turkey Sausage & Egg Muffins.  Frozen meat stuff like tht usually grosses me out, but wow these things are great!  They are only 260 calories and are very filling for breakfast.
My other fave frozen meal would have to be Stouffer's Lasagna w/Meat Sauce.  I swear, it almost tastes homemade to me.  I'm super picky about lasagna, but I love this!

So, what are your favorites so I can try some new things?

Re: Favorite Frozen Foods?

  • We don't buy too much frozen stuff, but I do love most of the Stouffers items, especially the chicken & broccoli pasta bake (it is so cheesy and delicious!).  We also love Freschetta frozen pizzas and Sister Shubert's wheat dinner rolls.

  • I too like the Stouffer's Lasagna and I also like Stouffer's Grandma's Chicken Bake.

I usually make homemade fajitas but if we are in a hurry and need a quick meal I do like the Tyson's chicken fajita kit (although it's only enough for 2-3 people).

And some of the Bertolli meals.

  • If we ever buy frozen things to have on hand for dinners in a hurry, it's usually frozen Stouffer meals (stuffed shells, manicotti, lasagna are all good) or frozen pizzas.  I do like the Healthy Choice frozen pasta dishes for a quick lunch.  It steams the pasta/veggies/meat in a colander-type dish above the sauce, then you dump out the ingredients and mix into the sauce... they've been surprisingly good and are a great serving size for lunches.

I eat a Healthy Choice Fresh Mixer every day for my lunch (with a 100 calorie pack of something sweet) and a bottle of water.  I am always full and they taste great!  These are usually found on the soup aisle and are not frozen.

I hadn't tried the Fresh Mixers yet, only the frozen ones.  I guess the only difference is that they're meat and veggie free?  I will have to check them out too.

  • We buy a lot of frozen meals. I like all of the Stouffers meals I've tried.  We also buy Frushetta (sp?) frozen pizzas.  Plus we buy stuff the make finger foods out of.  Like Mozzarella bites and some of the TGIFridays stuff like qusadillas, that's normally stuff for when I'm home and don't want to cook a big meal.  I also buy frozen meatballs and make meatball hoagies.  Frozen breakfast food is a staple at our house too. The Jimmy Dean D-Lights are good and also the little pancakes and sausage things (dh eats these) Like Mcgriddles.  We like those heat and serve veggie packs too.  Like I said, we generally have a lot of frozen stuff.

No, they do have meat and some veggies.

  • If you go to Trader Joes ever - I LOVE a lot of their frozen foods... especially the mandarin orange chicken.

I like the frozen ravioli from Costco too.

  • I like the Stouffer's lasagna and the Bertolli frozen pasta meals (in the bag).  Usually those are just for me when DH is working his overnight shift. I eat half for lunch and the rest for dinner. Half of it would never be enough to satisfy DH.
  • I have also started buying some of the steamers veggies. I also LOVE any of the Sister Shuberts breads-

The Pillsbury Savorings are also yummy little bites to have for appetizers.

We will do CPK pizzas some too and some Bertolli meals.

  • we get the bertolli meals sometimes too - however those are good to cook when it's just A. and I because she eats a ton of them.

Last time I made one, I figured we could eat for dinner and then i'd have lunch...

NOT... she ate half of it.

(seriously, where does the food go in her?  she's not even tipping the scale at 22 lbs yet!)

  • We practically live out of our freezer. But, a lot of it is just fresh meat we buy and put in our freezer for later.

As far as meals, we do a lot of the Green Giant steamers veggies (pretty much what K eats as far as veggies) and the Birdseye brand ones too. For sides I also like the roasted potato steamers they have too.

We also do the Stouffer's lasagna or chicken bake.

For lunch, I almost always have a Lean Cuisine Pizza. I always cook them in the microwave but then toast them afterward in our toaster oven to get extra crispy. Yum.

  • I also like the Grandma's Chicken Bake from Stouffer's.

Also, I am picky about pizza, but I LOVE the french bread single pizzas. We tried the ones by Stouffer's at first I think, but now we get the ones from Red Baron and they are delicious!

  • We love the Celentano's frozen meatballs and frozen raviolis.  They are the quickest--easiest meals!!  The meatballs can be heated in the microwave...I prefer to put them in the oven, but that's just me.  Open up a jar of your favorite sauce and you're done!

I also really like Mama Bella's garlic bread.  18 min. in the oven and it's done....garlic-buttery goodness!  YUM!

  • We don't buy many frozen meals (apart from Lean Cuisine lunches), so I'll have to check these out! Thanks for sharing!
