I feel like I was ripped off!

Over the weekend, I went to th Orlando outlets, and found a maternity store!  I got a pair of jeans, and 2 blouses (same blouse 2 colors).

Anyway, I just checked Motherhood website to compare prices, and the blouses are the same price, and the jeans are cheaper online!  I paid $45, and they are on sale for $30 now!

What happened to outlet prices?!

  • I've noticed this at Dolphin Mall.  Most outlet prices are the same as the store prices.

Can you get a price adjustment with the receipt?

  • Oh Lord, and my bathing suit doesn't fit my anymore!  We attempted to relax by the pool on Saturday (I started to feel real bad then).  I was able to wear the bathing suit, but it wasn't pretty!

Oh I'm going to try!  The store name was different, but I'm sure they are affiliated w/ Destination Maternity, as the tags were the same.

  • There's a Motherhood store in Dolphin Mall next to Burlington.

I know how you feel about the bathing suit.   I put on one of my newest bikinis to go in the pool with DH this weekend and it was not pretty!  But, at least it was just us in our own backyard.

Oh, if it is just Dh and I, I can care less.  Once you are in the water, no one sees anything.  But Dh loves inviting people over to the pool in the summers, so it will be an interesting one!

LOL!  I was wondering the same thing.  This is the first time we have a pool so it's going to be a fun summer but not sure I want others around to see me in a bikini now.

BTW, I'm doing the same thing with some patio furniture we got at Pier 1 a few weeks ago.  It's now on sale, so I'm going back for a price adjustment!

  • So sorry Jackie. But maybe the price is similar once you include the shipping costs.

About the bikini's, I think it's very awkward at the beginning because since it's mostly bloat, you just look fat. But once the belly gets more defined, I think it looks adorable. It's defininitely not for everyone though. Some people don't feel comfortable showing their pregnant belly. But I wore bikini's all summer. It was actually the first time in a long time that I did not feel worried about how I looked in a bathing suit.

Ditto! I hate to break it to you guys, but if you think wearing a bikini is awkward this summer, wait till after you give birth :( Bikini on a pregnant woman with a cute basketball belly = adorable. Bikini on a non-pregnant woman with a mommy pouch, deformed belly button, and stretch marks = not adorable. I wore bikinis the whole summer I was pregnant, but this summer? Not so much. I actually just yesterday bought my first one-piece bathing suit since I was a preteen. I weigh about 2 lbs. less than I weighed before I got pregnant, but my body sooooo does not look the same. I thought my biggest problem was going to be losing the pregnancy weight, but even when you do, things do not look like they did before. At least for me...I know there are some women (i.e., Heidi Klum) who are perfectly ready to rock the bikini just a few months after giving birth ;)

Jackie, I hope you are able to get the price adjustment!!!

  • Lol Jen! I'm dreading the bikini thing this summer too. Bikini's when you're pregnant are great, but afterwards...not so much! Heidi Klum is a [beautiful] freak of nature [& I hate her for it] LOL. But seriously, that's not normal! And if you think "mommy pouch" is the only thing you'll try hiding afterwards....I have a few words.....mommy thighs! AHHH!!! haha

Jackie...rock your bikini all summer long, and save the one pieces & tankini's for afterwards.

  • Actually I haven't worn a bikini in public in years!  I've been sporting the tankini look for about 3 yrs now.  So, that is mostly what I've got... and those are the ones that don't fit.  I have one that has adjustable bottoms (tie at side), and it didn't fit right!

I have a couple of bikinis, but those I think I'll save for pool time w/ Dh alone.  If I'm already showing at 9 wks, I don't want to know what I look like in Aug w/ a double baby bump!

  • It's true - most women I've seen in a bikini while pg have a cute belly.
