T&Ps needed please....they found "something" on my mammogram

Just got the call this morning....they made me an appt for wed. morning for another mammogram and an u/s.  Its not a lump per se but there's a discrepency (sp) in the density in the breast tissue from last year's mammo.

I think I'm in denial because I'm being so nonchalant about it all.

    Even if it is 'something', it would be very early in the game. That's why chicks our age are supposed to get annual mammograms.

    I am pretty nonchalant about health issues, too, because I stay on top of checkups and screenings. It's not about denial, it's because you don't freak out about stuff before it's an issue. The more stressed you get about anything, the harder it is to deal with.

    Don't freak out just yet, it could be "nothing." My mom had this recently and it's nothing to be concerned about. GL though! I hope everything is fine.

    Gah, sorry you have to deal with this!! I have had a couple breast health scares in my 33 years. You can ask for the BRAC and Her2Neu to be run too.

    I wouldn't worry about it yet. There is a pretty high rate of false negatives with mammograms. Just about every woman I know has been called back for a repeat test due to some kind of issue, and it's usually nothing.

    I'll be thinking of you. It's probably nothing though. My Grandmother just had her second mammogram of her entire life b/c she was having breast issues and they were hurting her and her nipples became inverted and she thought she had breast cancer. Turns out it was just fatty tumors... so that's what I'm hoping for you- that you're boobs are getting fat ;)

     And let me know if you need help with Michelle at all :)

    T&P your way. I agree with the posters who say that if it is "something" to worry about, you know it was discovered early since you had a mammogram last year and it wasn't there then.

    At my appt. in the summer, they called me that afternoon and told me to come in the following Tuesday (my call came on the Friday).  Anyway, they did the repeat and from that they did an ultrasound.  Then they said I was fine and sent me on my way :) 

    I hope you get good results.  But after my trip back there I found that a lot of ppl get call backs.
