I posted this question on my local board, but since most that check the board on the weekend there, I wanted to repost here.
DD is coughing like crazy (3 years old) and when I looked at Dr sears website he had the dose chart for Vicks Children niquil and the Vicks 44 for 6 months and up. I always thought that cold and cough meds couldn't be given to kids under the age of 6, but has this changed recently? I'm debating if I should call our pedi tomorrow morning or not. Or we could talk to our pharmacist, but I'm pretty sure they're going to go by the 6 years up thing....
Re: Cough Med?
When my child had a terrible cough, our pedi suggested using delsym. 1/2 teaspoon per 12 hrs. It helped tremendously when she couldn't sleep.
Cough medicines are safe as long as the correct dosage is given.
