i have been researching all kinds of cloth diapers over the past couple of years and this brand is the only one i haven't seen in person yet. after looking at all the reviews as far as fit [obviously different from baby to baby], softness, durability, ease of use, etc.
while i will have some pre-folds for the beginning, i am leaning toward using the one-size [because i am planning to do EC and i don't want to mess with different sizes if i can help it] and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them?
thanks!
Re: has anyone used mother-ease diapers?
I haven't used the actual diapers, but I picked up 4-5 covers at a garage sale for 25 cents apiece last year. My kid is about 23lbs. and the small fits him, so I think they are a bit "huge to size". The woman I bought them from LOVED them and used them on both her boys.
ETA: The covers I used with some fitted overnight diapers. The covers are very trim and don't seem to leak.
love their products. we use exclusively ME Airflow covers. DS is about 22 lbs and he's in a Med with plenty of room to spare.
I like the Sandy's fitted for newborn/infant use. They contain well and absorb more than a KL0. I have a few small AIOs and they are good, but at this point, he needs more absorbency, and the rise is getting too low.
we have a few of the one-size and they are good. They aren't trim, but are so well made, absorb a ton, launder well, and contain well. I have a friend who used them exclusively with 2 kids from birth to PT and said she could still get a lot of use out of them. I think the bamboo is initially softer and more absorbent, but takes forever to dry, and the bamboo terry actually wears more quickly than the cotton terry.
they have a deal on their website where you can get a cover and OS diaper for a decent price to try out. Good news is the resale value is pretty high since they have such a great reputation. i also like the way they are fairly made in a green facility.
I had one of the Sandys diapers for DD right after the NB stage. It was turquoise, the color was awesome, held to the color, snaps were strong, it was very well constructed. Soft terry feel, with a silkier feel inside. Came with an additional insert that I still have and use which is silky low-nap terry on one side and more terry feeling on the other (no clue the actual fabrics). Washed and dried super easy.
That being said, I didn't feel the ME love. I found it to be more bulky than other daytime fitteds and it hardly fit under my Thirsties covers, while other WAHM, Cricketts, and Thirsties fitteds were fine. I didn't hate it, I felt it fit well, but was a bit puffy in the bum - not that it was fat with stuffing, but it had a bit of a puff - not trim and close to the body.
However, on my local CD listeserv, there are some rabid ME CD fans. People utterly adore these diapers. When I put mine on CL, it sold the very same day - the woman emailed me and offered to pick it up that evening. I had a good 50 emails in 24 hours asking about that one diaper. So there are major fans out there.
thank you all for the responses, i feel even better about the company and trying their products now. it's just hard because i need to have enough diapers once the baby is here but i obviously can't know how well they work until i have a baby to try them! thanks again for the help
