reusable nursing pads

So I've decided to try to save money and look into buying reusable nursing pads. I bought Nuk's brand: https://www.diapers.com/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?productId=25606

What I'm wondering is:

1.) was this a good buy?

2.) if you have reusable nursing pads how do you clean them? The directions say to use a gentle laundry cleaner, but what does that mean?

I have three types - AFFF from Etsy, Avent, and Gerber. I launder all of them in a lingerie bag (the Avent set even came with one) with regular laundry.

As far as good to use - I would not buy the Gerber ones again but like both the AFFF and the Avent ones.
