Guatemala Adoption

Anyone waiting to see if/when Guatemala opens adoptions again? 

I am really hoping this happens soon, but it seems like it is a slow process. 

This is the country we would prefer to adopt from, due to the little amount of travel and the closeness to the US.  I have 3 boys already and am not willing to leave them for several weeks, at this point. 

Anyone have experience adopting from Guatemala or any other country in South/Central America?

I do not have experience (sorry- we are trying to adopt from Russia), but maybe try a Yahoo group specifically for Guatemala Adoption? 

Just do a google search for yahoo groups and Guatemala adoption and  there should be one. They might have more answers.

Good luck to you. (I understand about having LOs and wanting the travel to be on the shorter side. Even with Russia requiring 2-3 trips, they are on the shorter end, as compared to other countries that require trips of 2-3 weeks in length each)

Russia and Guatemala were our top international runners. We were pretty sad when Guatemala closed and are now thankful that we decided to go with domestic afterall.

 Good luck...I hope something happens quick. Those babies need homes.

We have some family members that are hoping Guatemala opens back up soon.  They feel really lead to adopt from there.  We have several families in our church that have adopted from Guatemala and their boys are all adorable.  They have wonderful stories to tell.   Wishing you the best!
