Remarkably, it is both as disgusting as I had imagined and at the same time, not really so bad.
Apparently D is having some tummy troubles (probably because of the vast amounts of snot in his body right now, coupled with the medicine we're giving him to combat said vast amounts of snot), and his poop has been BEYOND HORRENDOUS. He pooped while eating, and the back of his shorts were soaked. OMG so bad. So stinky. So vile.
Needless to say it was bath time. Nevertheless it is good to know that I can manage the dunk and swish when necessary.
(And a quick aside to highlight the differences in how we do things. When DH gives D a bath:
He runs the water and undresses the child while I make sure he has a clean washcloth and a towel. While they are occupied in the tub I get fresh clothes/diaper/bedding/changing pad cover ready as needed. When they are done in the tub DH asks me, "Do you want to clean up the bathroom or get D dressed?" Usually he dresses him and I clean out the tub.
When I give D a bath:
I run the water, undress the kid, and get everything ready. I bathe the kid. I grab the fresh clothes, etc. and dress him. Then I clean out the tub. Meanwhile, DH plays WoW.
INteresting.)
Re: Performed the "dunk and swish" for the first time
This is why I banned WoW about 3 months ago. DH was spending every waking moment at the comp and was even hiding from work so he could play. Um, no. I'm not putting up with that crap when we have a child to take care of. WE have a child, WE, WE, WE!!!
Oooooh dear. Glad it was banned (I say this as the daughter/sister of two SUPREMELY addictive personalities, whose lives were sucked away for such a long time by 1.Everquest and then 2.WoW). DH was bad when he got into the whole guild thing and felt like people were "counting on him" to show up to raids and chats at certain times (which was like ALL the time), and when he was on there, you just couldn't interrupt him. We had to have a big discussion about who was really counting on him, in real life. Since then he's given it up, but a few months ago he started playing again, but MUCH more casually. He's not to do the guild thing again. Luckily, he's a lot less addictive than the members of my family, lol.
It's just ridiculous to me that the one thing that was his chore (bath time=Daddy time), is something he ALWAYS felt entitled to have me help with. :P
