South Florida Babies

so anxious =(

I have been spotting since the first time I had that bleeding scare.  It wasn't much and since I had the two ultrasounds last week, I wasn't too concerned.  But, today, at work, I went to the bathroom during a meeting and I saw a lot of blood (at least what seemed like a lot to me) and I just started crying.  I immediately left and called the doc.  I was on my way to see him, but when I got to speak with him, he reassured me that everything was fine.  He said that the two ultrasounds were perfect (the one from last Monday at his office and the one from last Friday for the NT scan at the perinatal center).  He said the baby was measuring to the day on both and that everything was normal and the NT scan results were good.  I mentioned what the u/s tech said about the placenta right over the cervix, but he said that I don't have placent previa that the placenta is in the anterior.  He said that the bleeding/spotting is probably from the vanishing twin and may persist a little longer. I felt reassured, but at the same time I have a headache and just feel drained.  I'm trying to stay positive, but I don't think I'll be 100% okay until the next OB appointment in 2 weeks.

    I could only imagine how stressful this can be! It is reassuring that your Ob is ok, but if you still feel uncomfortable I would call him back! I know it is hard to do, but trying to stay as relaxed as possible is best for you and your baby! ;)

  • Oh no! I am so sorry you're going through this, I can just imagine how scary it must be, but I am sure your doctor is right and that the baby is perfectly healthy and everything is fine - just stay positive, try to relax and don't fret too much! It's not good for you or the baby!

    And if you really can't relax or if the bleeding continues, I would demand that they do another U/S to check on the baby. Nothing is more valuable than peace of mind!

    ::big hugs::

    If you need anything, anything at all, please let me know!

  • Thanks, Eli.

    I'm trying to just keep my mind occupied and I just keep reassuring myself that we saw baby last Friday and everything was fine.  The bleeding seems to have stopped and it's just spotting, again.  I'm going to wait to see what happens tomorrow.  One thing they kept asking me is if I have cramping and I haven't had any, so if I notice cramping or a new symptom I'll call again.

  • (((HUGS))) I know exactly how you must be feeling!!! I had a complete placenta previa and would freak out everytime I saw ANY blood!!! Just focus on how healthy and active the baby was on the ultrasound...at least your OB confirmed that it isn't a previa...rest up and take good care of yourself and the little one :o)

    No cramping is goo!

    My OB told me, as long as I'm spotting, no work!  Maybe you just need to rest up a bit.  Have you been over doing it these days?  Take it easy, stay off your feet (easier said than done when you are a teacher).  Hopefully the bleeding will stop!

  • If you're nervous, call your OB back and go in for an u/s, even if its just to ease your mind.  Be persistent if you have to.  That's what they're there for.

  • Thanks, girls.

    I've actually been pretty good about not doing too much lately.  There were hardly any kids in school today b/c of "Take your Child to Work Day," so I stayed in my office behind the desk most of the day.  I'm a reading coach this year, so I don't have any kids assigned to me which is actually working out for this pregnancy b/c I'm not so exposed to the kids' germs and I can take it easy if I have to.

  • I'm sorry you're going through all this Adri. I'll say a prayer for you so that all is well and so that you are able relax and de-stress.
