Don't know how to answer this. I tried 1 month and got pregnant but miscarried (#3) then had to take time off and it took a few months to get pregnant with this one. So either 3 months or 7.
Married 8.13.2005, M/C 12/8/06- 5 weeks, M/C 2/27/07- 7 weeks, M/C w/ D&C 8/10/09-6.5 weeks *Charles Lawrence born 5/2/08 @ 3:14am, 7lb 8oz, 20.5 inches. Clomid, Crinone and baby aspirin. *Alexandra Claire born 9/14/10 @ 9:52am 6lb 14oz, 20.5 inches. Femara, Crinone and baby aspirin.
I put less then a month, but truth is we weren't really trying yet. i was only off the pill for 1 cycle and was going to go through at least 2 more before we'd start trying. I thought i wasn't ovulating so we decided to have unprotected sex.. turns out i was ovulating.. couldn't be happier!
I was really shocked at how quick it happened for us. I went off BC in middle of November and was pregnant by middle of January.
I don't really count the first cycle off BC because that was a really wacky month. So I say that Dec-Jan was our first month really trying. I did start off charting though (patients is not one of my strong points).
I put 5 months because that's how long it was after we got married, but I'm pretty sure some of those months don't really count. I had 3 weeks worth of business trips and my husband had 2 weeks, which probably made one or two of those months not really count.
I got off the pill when i finished the pack- then BOOM the next month we are pregnant! I honestly thought it would take a while.. I call myself Fertile Myrtle and SO says he has super sperm!
We got married at the end of Sept and went off BC after our honeymoon in October....I got pregnant in November (found out in December)....My MIL told me when we shared the news at Christmas that DH's family is a very fertile group....wish I knew that before!

We were going to wait at least until we'd been married a year.... Yeah.... We didn't even make it a whole month. Got married 10/13/09, date of last period 11/25/09.
I went off the BC the year before but we didn't get to start having our fun of getting me knocked up until Oct/Nov (joys of the military)
and from there it took about 4 months for us to get pregnant, but in all honesty we weren't really trying it was just me off the BC and just having our fun!
well its hard to say. technically we were trying for 1 month shy of 2 years, but had 3 losses during that time. this pregnancy took on our first round of IVF. so I guess that was one month trying?

We were not really trying, but not really preventing either. We wanted another one close to age as our DD, but did not think we would until DD was weaned.
I knew I had fertility issues prior to TTC and that when the time came, we would need a little help. I did 1 long cycle post BCP's and my body did nothing as expected so we had to use provera and then did 1 cycle with Clomid with a very late ovulation CD 28. We got so lucky!
Well, I guess I'll throw mine out. Was on BC early on in me and my Fiances relationship, a few months in even though I was on BC (the mini pill) I had missed my period for 2 months. We thought I pregnant so I went of the mini pill and started testing (My body HATES hormones, period.), after the blood test came back not pregnant I decided I would lay off the hormone birth controls (Since I've been on every one and either get sick or have some sort of freaky reaction), started using back up protection. Didn't get my period for months! Thought something was wrong with me, that I may be infertile... nope. The first month I would have gotten my period back from the progestin in the mini pill I got pregnant. Total surprise! So we weren't trying but I haven't had my period for over a year! lol.
Re: How long did it take you to conceive your current pregnancy?
Us too! We started very shortly after DD#2 was born.

One night.
We were trying for 2 months.

Holy crap. I can't believe 43% of the board was trying for a month or less (or not trying at all!)
It took us well over 3 years. I'm still in shock that our first round of IVF actually worked.

I was shocked but then remember the 10% of women battle IF statistic which means 90% don't.
It took us 2 years, 3 failed IUI cycles, one IVF cycle that resulted in a m/c, and a second IVF cycle this resulted in this pregnancy.
2 years after going off BC.
After 5 failed IUI's, it happened while we were on a break. Go figure.
