I am not saying GBCN and I understand about how the internet works and "anonymity cruelty". However, I have a right to speak up everytime this happens just like you guys have a right to be snarky. Just expect me to be the naysayer when it comes to these kind of threads.

Feel free to be the naysayer but please, find a better argument than the "hiding behind a keyboard" one. 

I am a HUGE biitch in real life.  I would say the same thing to my friend's face if she was giving herself a pelvic one day.  And, then I would send out a PSA email to all of our friends about keeping their fingers out of their pregnant vag. 

So, find a different fault but I am not hiding behind a keyboard.  Promise!

Well, at least we have a understanding. Also, I don't mind being alone in my opinion because I think it is valid to treat others fairly even on online. 

Even though these threads are the negatives of thebump, the women here can be very helpful and caring. This is why I like thebump. I'm just disappointed everytime I see these threads.. and that is why I am against these posts. 

I don't mind being the person who ruines the party/fun.. maybe this will encourage you ladies to do this privately.. maybe it won't. But either way, I am not going to do nothing at all and let this behavior to continue without saying anything.

You're sweet! However, I don't take it personally. I just disagree. On the other hand, I do understand that a doc would discourage a woman from "jamming her finger up there and really messing stuff up". I suppose they could fear that a woman could shove her whole hand up there and give the cervix a good yank or something. So, they must have told them just to keep away from that area. My doc knows that I am not going to torment my poor cervix. And, he respects the fact that I am also a healthcare professional, too, and knows that I am smart enough not to do anything stupid or to stick my hand up there on a daily basis.

I agree. How can a message board full of adult women be so snarky and immature? I understand when you don't agree and state your opinion but making multiple posts just to make fun of those OPs is not approriate. Learn some morals and decent respect for other individuals.

I wasn't pregnant at the time, but I once found a cervical polyp on my own that my husband had been completly oblivious to.  My doctor and I were slightly embarassed by the fact that I had found it myself- but he was impressed none the less and congratulated me for having been so in tune. 

Male fingers in the vagina are a pretty normal part of hetero-sexual behavior and I have never seen any warning against avoiding that aspect of sex during pregnancy, so why would your own fingers be such a no-no?  This is a perfect example of some stupid, immature, prudish, made up drama.  Grow the heck up mean pregnant ladies, get in touch with your body, have some decent manners and stop making fun of people.
