Children with a sixth sense?

Do you believe some children have a sixth sense?

Re: Children with a sixth sense?

  • I believe everyone has a sixth sense, including children.  I think children aren't jaded yet so they tend to be more "in tune" with theirs.  Adults usually stop believing in that kind of thing so dismiss things (like signs) because they are jaded by life itself.

I think I'm pretty in tune with my 6th sense.  For example, 2 minutes before I got run over by a snowmobile, I said in my head "Ohshit! Something bad is going to happen!"  I dismissed it just as quick with "Eh, we've been riding for hours and everything is fine!"  Cleared through the woods, into the field and BAM!  Broke my back.  In that same story, my older sister called my mom (who was vacationing with my father in FL) and my mom answered the phone with "What is wrong with Jodi?"  She just knew.

  • I wouldn't doubt it.  My aunt and my G'ma have an "intuition."  They knew I was in labor a few hours before I called them.  Plus, other stuff that has happened over the years.

  • I think most people have it and simply don't pay attention to it - or don't know how to.

My mom told me her mom would know things about close friends/relatives in Chicago - she was in California.  People being sick, births, deaths, etc.  I have some of that, too.  For a few years in middle/high school I always knew when the phone was going to ring and who it was.  Within five minutes, that person would call.  Every time.  I also have seen/sensed a couple of ghosts.

  • Okay okay okay.
  • Oh, ek!  Don't be chicken to post it here.  I want to hear!  ;)
  • You're being silly- now they all want to know LOL

    I'll check ! :-)

  • Another one of those times I should have kept my mouth shut. Okay, here it is. And... I know I will probably get flamed.

I am taking DD to a psychic next week. Way too many weird things are happening. Different people she sees/plays with. Now she seems to be sleepwalking and having night terrors. I just wonder if it has anything to do with the people she is seeing. It's been going on for a very long time, but the sleepwalking and night terrors are so much worse now. 2-5 a night sometimes.

Am I out of my mind taking her to a psychic?

  • What harm could it do?!  None, IMO.

And btw, *I* want to go to a psychic!  :)

  • email back, A.

I didn't save the draft so I can't post it.. DOH lol  Go ahead if you want to c&p it

No flames from me.  FWIW my cousin started sleepwalking alot when she was 4-5 years old.  It gets worse when she is stressed out or sick (she is 16 now.)

I don't want to be a know-it-all, but make sure that the psychic is pretty reputable.  My friend went to two different ones and they were vastly different.  She really connected with the 2nd one.

  • Here is the email from Kori. I will post my response when I am finished.

Hmmm.  I'm skeptical of *most* psychics.  Most will tell you what you want to hear and be so general that anything can be read into their answers, you know?  I know some can be good and know what their doing, but I'd be awfully hesitant.  I'm cynical though, LOL

I think it's very possible that she is talking/playing with people, but not knowing her or how she's doing it all, I'd think it also possible that she has a lot of imaginary friends.  DD had about 8 at one point - BUT they were most definitely made up by her.

DD wakes up when she pees at night, sometimes she's ok, sometimes she's a mess - is that possible for her?  I mean, waking up halfway through a bad dream could mess a person up.  (i'm just playing devil's advocate here on all this)

I think as long as you're careful about who you take her to, psychic-wise, hell it couldn't hurt.  And maybe doing some back history on who lived in your house??  See if some names match.  Or do a lookup at the library through old newspaper archives ?

My grandmother and my mom both were very ill in this house. They both were out of it when they left here to go to the hospital.

She has "played" with Caylee Anthony. When I asked where she heard the name she said, "from Caylee." I showed her a picture on-line and asked who it was. "Caylee!"

When she was around 18 months old she was playing in her crib after a nap. I walked in and said, "What are you doing girly?" She said, "Play wit Debbie." My mom's name. I only ever call her mom.

The other night she screamed out that she needs help. I went running in and asked what's the matter. She said "I need help!" Me- With what? She said, "With her!" and pointed next to me. Many other things have happened- these are just a few.

The psychic I am taking her to is my friend's psychic. She has been right on with my friend. I don't know if I will believe her, but I am also just very curious.

About the peeing thing. I dream pee her 2 hours after she goes to bed. This usually starts happening about 1 hour after that. Last night it happened 4 times from 1130pm-4am.

  • LOL at dream pee, I wish we could do that with Samantha.

Can't hurt - let me know how it goes, now I'm curious, too :-)

  • Yes, I do believe. I believe my son has it. I talked to a physic and it explained a lot to me. Also BRETTKORI, you posted pics yesterday right? I noticed there was an orb in one of your pics. I didn't get a chance to comment yesterday. Was that at your house?

I just went back to look - it's at my mom's house and as far as I know, nothing spectacular has ever happened there.  My dad died in the room where the hexagon/orb thing is though.  It's not on any other pics so it's not dirt on the lens, and the china cabinet in the back isn't reflecting anything.  WEIRD

  • I noticed the orb in Kori's pic yesterday, too!

I know sometimes orbs can be dust. There are orbs in so many pics of DD. Especially the pics when she was younger. She would giggle looking at a wall when she was 5 months old.

  • I know I've told this story before...when I was a nanny, I went on vacation so the grandfather watched the kids.  I came home, there were ambulances and police cars there, the grandfather had died while watching the youngest child.  First weird thing---the Orkin pest control guy had called 15 minutes before getting to the house and talked to the grandpa.  Arrived and no one answered, but he could hear the 18 month old inside saying "hello!" and playing, so he went inside and found their Grandpa dead.  IF he hadn't been scheduled to visit, then the oldest son would have come home from school and found his grandpa dead. AND it would have been SEVERAL hours that the 18 month old would have been left "alone".  Total blessing!

THEN---several weeks after it happened I was helping with the bedtime routine stuff and the 18 month old just looked up, started laughing at "nothing" and when his mom asked what he was laughing about he said "Grandpa!" and pointed.  Then he said "ok, love you too Grandpa!" and waved.  And told the mom "Grandpa said he loves us and good bye."  We BOTH burst out in tears...I'm tearing up thinking about it.  It was amazing and scary and wonderful and everything in between.

  • I think everyone can but children especially have not learned to tune it out the way adults have.
  • I have a good story from my mom, but first

DANDR-really an 18mth olds said all that? my 18mth is a pretty good talker and the longest sentence I heard was "es w can"(yes we can) and I am impressed with 3 word sentences.

Anyway, my mom had a bad dream one night when a freshmen in high school she was walking through a cemetery down a path and came to a stop in front of a tombstone. I don't know if it was weeks or months later but her 5 yr old siste was hit by a car and killed. Her sister was buried in the same spot in her dream with the same gravestone.

    Creepy, creepy, creep!

Actually he was closer to 2 when it happened.  I always refer to him as the "18 month old" since that was how old he was when I started.....when people ask the age of the kids I nannied for I always said "11, 9, twins that were 6 and an 18 month old"  Anyways, he was a smart kid and good talker and yeah, it was closer to when he was two, I had been with the family for a good 4 or 5 months when the grandfather died.

  • Yes, my cousins son used to see deceased relatives. a lot of them. It started when he was 2 and one of my cousins passed away at age 38. My cousins son was playing one day and said "mommy, I'm playing baseball with Michael, you call me frankie (michaels brothers name)." Then whenever he was with his great grandmother he would tell her her husband, his great grandfather, was there. about 2 years ago, he walked into the office and told his mom that "Uncle Louis was outside walking his dog". Uncle louie was my grandfather, whom this kid had never met, and wouldnt' have really heard about in conversation that much. scary part? he described trixie, my grandparents dog, exactly. and he's never seen a picture or heard about her.

He also saw strangers for a while too. he is almost 6 now and its not happening anymore or he isn't talking about it. there was just something strangly comforting  about him seeing relatives.

My son knows my poppop as "poppop" since he never met him, he has just seen pictures. one day he told me poppop was riding in the car with us. another day we were in kohls checking out dysons and he told me poppop was vacuuming with us. my grandfather loved to vacuum (i know, strange, but true).

I hope the psychic gives you some answers!
